The Location Engine is a multi-technology solver that computes and exposes the best location information possible by combining the data transmitted by your trackers. Abeeway trackers leverage GPS, Low Power-GPS (LP-GPS), Wi-Fi sniffing, LoRaWAN® and BLE radios – the engine merges these signals at the edge of the LPWA network to deliver a seamless outdoor and indoor position, at the lowest energy consumption possible.
The engine also exposes a set of APIs to interact with the trackers, for example to request a position or change a configuration.
The engine post-processes raw GNSS data to correct errors a tracker cannot see on its own, returning a more accurate position than the device reports alone.
Low Power-GPS delivers a position at a fraction of the energy a full GNSS fix costs, extending the time your trackers stay in the field between charges.
One continuous position stream wherever the asset is. The engine switches between technologies as the environment changes, with no gap when an asset moves inside.
Wi-Fi sniffing resolves to a position out of the box: the engine arrives already connected to hotspot databases, so there is no reference data for you to source or maintain.
Where you deploy BLE tags, the engine computes position from the tags your trackers can see, using your own tag layout to reach room-level accuracy indoors.
The purpose of the geolocation engine is to let third-party IoT applications unlock the value of LPWAN geolocation. We provide you with all the improved and consolidated data through our API or using HTTP push, and you make the most of that data with your own know-how.
